About us
We are experienced industrial designers and former post-secondary educators. We want to help you build a great portfolio.
Brett Hooper
Product Designer | Former Professor of Industrial Design
I’m a former Professor & lecturer at Carleton University teaching design studio courses for over 7 years. I created these portfolio courses and products based on what I noticed was missing with University finishing courses. I want to share what I’ve learned about building a portfolio and getting a design job. I’ve been designing products and services for over 20 years and now as the senior industrial designer at Studio 63, I help hire new grads and interns. I can take this knowledge and help you get the design job you want.

“Brett’s portfolio development course helped me combine my school projects and work experience to effectively communicate my skills to hiring managers. The program helped me reflect and identify how I wanted to present myself, my skills, and interests. I also learned critical digital tools that allowed me to create my portfolio, and I gained a great deal from Brett’s design experience. Brett is a tremendous teacher who is knowledgeable and supportive and cares greatly about his students’ success.”

“You have been a pivotal professor for our incoming students and a great influence on their design skill, understanding and to help develop that passion, so crucial in that very important first year. I remember Brian Burns saying “you really have to be good to teach 1st year”. I would say you were excellent.

“Miles has been a great mentor over the years! The skills and knowledge he shared with me were instrumental for me being ahead of my class and for landing my dream internship this summer. “
